I like reading aloud to people. I used to read Sherlock Holmes’ stories to an ex when he went to bed at night. When we shared an apartment, I used to read Boris Vian to Miss J when she was cooking or doing the dishes. Now I’ve started reading Elisabeth Wurtzel’s Bitch to my mother when she’s doing something or other in the kitchen. I like that.
