Victor Burgin on photography and ideology
Work with an obvious ideological slant is often condemned as ‘manipulative’; that is to say, first, that the photographer manipulates what comes over in the image; second, that as a result his or her audience’s beliefs about the world are manipulated. … Using the productive capabilities of photography to reproduce the world as an object of aesthetic contemplation, and...

Artist takes a different drug every day and draws... →
Sometimes the portraits seem a little too predictable with regard to the drug. You can question to what extent the artist’s preconceptions of the effect of a certain drug influence the style of the portrait he makes after knowingly having taken that drug. But it’s fascinating to look at them none the less. (-MaryDear)

Hah! I don’t understand much of the french, but I just read that book on the iconography of...

Post Script
To clarify another part of the point I wanted to make with an anecdote: A couple of years ago I slept with a friend of mine after a garden (or more like the patch of grass beside the parking lot outside the apartment building) party, an alcohol and Led Zeppein induced one-time thing. He must have been about 23 at the time, I was maybe 27. He then told me that more than once when he had been in...

On Pussy Baldness
I happened to read this and the cogs started turning inside my little head. I decided not to bother with it, since I didn’t even know who this Amanda Palmer was (now I do). Obviously though, my inability to keep my rose-bud shut is borderline pathologic, so I have to say something anyway. First of all it amazed me that so many seems to have been offended by a pop-song. About how to wear the...
